A mix of progressive and indie rock, deTournai brings a fresh sound with classical roots. Their debut single, Adore You, written and produced by the artists, combines elements of rock and pop, infused with passionate guitar solos and fills, leaving the listener both relaxed and engaged in vocals and guitar.
Bandmates Vasilios and Christos, brothers born and raised in the Washington, DC area, are formally trained in classical piano since the age of five. Their classical training led to various passions in learning to play and perform new music, including jazz piano, classic rock, and pop, and led to the learning and playing of new instruments, including classical, acoustic, electric guitar, and the drums. Playing in various shows throughout their childhood and early adulthood, both as solo acts and together, the brothers decided to form the band deTournai in the Summer of 2021, where they recorded and released their debut single, Adore You, written by Vasilios, and produced by Christos.
This was followed on by two live albums released in 2022, "deTournai Live in Georgetown" and "One Night in The Garden."
deTournai has since been featured in The Washington Post and Washingtonian Magazine. They have performed at notable venues including Pearl Street Warehouse (DC), Rockwood Music Hall and Pete’s Candy Store (New York), and BloomFest during the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Most recently, the brothers performed a live session on WVAU Radio, American University’s college radio station.
